Right around 1900, artisans used a 14k yellow gold band to act as the setting for a European-cut, blood red ruby that weighs in at .75cts. They surrounded it with 12 old-mine-cut diamonds, which present with a collective weight of .25cts. The ring’s width at the top is 9.5mm; at the bottom, it presents with a width of 1.5mm. We date this ring to the 1940s. It starts with the typical platinum setting that was so popular during the Art Deco period. The blood red ruby displays an oval shape and weighs .80cts. Two round, single-cut diamonds flank the piece; their collective weight is .04cts. At the top, the ring’s width is 8mm while at the bottom this measurement is 1.5mm.

1960s Oval Ruby Ring with Baguette Diamonds 

This princess style ring shows off the style elements that were iconic in the 1960s. At the heart of this 14k yellow gold ring is an oval ruby with an outstanding color. The stone weighs .70cts. Six baguette diamonds present in the shape of a starburst. Their combined weight is .30cts. To bring even more sparkle to the design, the jewelry makers added six round diamonds that also weigh a total of .30cts. Tiffany & Co. Platinum Ruby Ring with Edwardian Design Elements 

You can never go wrong with a Tiffany & Co. piece. We date the manufacture of this ring to about 1900 to 1920. The platinum setting presents with typical Edwardian flair. The center stone is a cushion-cut ruby that weighs 1.52cts. To add sparkle and shine, artisans added eight European full-cut diamonds with a combined weight of .06cts. If you only look at one engagement ring with a ruby today, make it this one.

Oval Ruby with Half-moon Diamonds in Platinum



The platinum setting comes from the Peter Suchy workshop. It replicates the worn out setting that the ring initially possessed. The stones come from the 1920s. At the center, you see an oval ruby with a weight of 1.51cts. Two half-moon diamonds, weighing a total of .63cts, flank the stone. This is a stunning piece.
