Get Ready for the End of Daylight Savings Time with a Vintage Pocket Watch

There are few time pieces that are as distinguishing and fashionable as the pocket watch. As an eye-catching anachronism, it is perfectly suited for the modern wearer who loves to have this old-fashioned visual counterpoint to contemporary attire. Whether you are stumped for a present to give to the jewelry aficionado who has everything or want to revamp your own wardrobe, the pocket watch can make an exquisite fashion statement. Peter Suchy Jewelers have put together a selection of attractive time pieces that become functional parts of your jewelry ensemble.

Antique Civil War Pocket Watch from MJ Tobias

Any history buff will love this piece. It is a rare Civil War artifact that comes with a key wind and a porcelain-enameled watch face that depicts Major General Franz Sigel. We have it on good authority that this watch once belonged to Samuel Wetmore, who carried it throughout the Civil War. The case presents with a natural patina and the normal dings that you would expect after such a long time. This is an amazing piece of history that can now become a part of your collection.

A. Lange & Söhne Pocket Watch from 1880

This rare collector’s item is made from 18k yellow gold. There are no defects, in spite of the watch’s age. The watch face identifies the manufacturer as A. Lange & Söhne Glashutte B/Dresden. Wear it on a heavy necklace or a chain attached to your pocket. It looks very distinguished in the hand.

Henri Blanc Open Face Pocket Watch

Unlike other pocket watches, this one does not come with a cover. This allows you and those noticing the time piece to drink in the beauty of the minute and hour hands. You receive this watch in its original case. We believe that the time piece may have been a Swiss retailer’s house watch. We serviced the watch, and it runs well.

Art Deco Ball-style Pendant Watch

While this Art Deco time piece might stretch the definition of pocket watch, we feel that it nevertheless merits inclusion into this collection. Made right around 1925, this pendant features a hand-enameled ball that beautifully details an attractive Art Deco pattern. The bottom portion of the ball turns over to display the watch portion. Crafted from sterling silver, this watch presents with the typical patina that only true age can generate. Look at the dial for a marvelous watch face.
These are just a few of the amazing time pieces that we have on hand. Come closer and take a good look. These are gorgeous, feature amazing detail work and give you a piece of real history. Is it not time that you add a new watch to your collection? Make it one of these!
