Fun and as wild as it was, the Art Deco time period lasted from 1920 to 1935. All of the jewelry from this era is so unique and even today, vintage jewelry lovers can spot an Art Deco piece. People were happy, jazz was in and World War I had ended. During these times, women gained the right to vote and hot beach vacations in Cannes were a must-do!
According to Art Deco Style, “The Art Deco styles is in fact quite eclectic with influences of Art Nouveau, Cubism, Futurism, Modernism, Neo-Classicism and Bauhaus.” Geometrical designs were created in jewelry workshops all over the world and others focused on flowers, baskets, and animals—think of Wallis Simpson’s panther bracelet (rumored to have been purchased by Madonna for a whopping $12.4 million). Furious and fast lifestyles were the rage and the jewelry definitely matched the era.
